I index in accordance with BS ISO 999:1996, the British standard on indexing, and with the good practice guidelines of the UK Society of Indexers.
Fees
I charge the Society of Indexers’ recommended indexing rates of £31.60 an hour, £3.55 a page or £9.55 per thousand words for an index to a non-academic text.
Before agreeing a fee, I would ideally like to see the proofs, or at least a few specimen pages, in order to make a fair assessment of what is involved.
